Lara Richards

Lara is a Research Scientist specialising in historical windstorms affecting Ireland and the United Kingdom. Her work focuses on reconstructing some of the most damaging storms of the 18th and 19th centuries through a combination of historical weather observations and modern climate modelling. By reconstructing these rare events, her research helps to improve understanding of how similar events may behave in future climates.
